Authorities have identified 44 individuals who had contact with a patient who arrived from Uganda and have called on medical institutions to exercise maximum vigilance.

The woman is receiving treatment at a private clinic in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.

In May 2026, the largest Ebola outbreak in the country's history began in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). According to the latest data, over 9,400 infections and more than 4,500 deaths have been recorded there; the disease has spread to eight provinces. Nine cases have been detected in Kenya.
