Marco Rubio arrives in Uzbekistan leading a large business delegation
A visit by Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State, has begun in Uzbekistan. He is heading a delegation that includes representatives of over 200 American companies.
The agenda in Samarkand includes negotiations between the heads of the U.S. diplomatic service and the five Central Asian states, as well as meetings with Uzbek authorities and regional counterparts. The discussions will cover trade, investment, energy security, and regional connectivity.
In 2025, the trade volume between Uzbekistan and the U.S. amounted to over 1 billion dollars. Uzbekistan aims to promote projects in industry, energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and the digital economy.
The C5+1 format, established in November 2015, includes the U.S. and five Central Asian countries. During the business program in Washington in November 2025, commercial agreements worth over 25 billion dollars were announced. For their implementation, it is necessary to further develop the projects and fulfill the agreements.
