Uzbekistan and UNICEF Discuss Children's Rights and Well-being
The talks focused on supporting children with disabilities, families in difficult situations, and the development of family upbringing.

Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva met with UNICEF Regional Director Edward Beigbeder, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the World Summit in Samarkand. The parties discussed reforms to strengthen constitutional guarantees of children's rights and practical cooperation.

The sides considered the possibility of jointly studying the application of the norms in the regions with UNICEF experts, assessing the effectiveness of assistance to children, and preparing practical measures based on the results.
Participants discussed the development of children's abilities and talents, the creation of conditions for their comprehensive development, support for specialists and parents, as well as the accessibility and quality of services. At the end of the meeting, they emphasized the need to coordinate work under the UNICEF Country Program for 2026–2030.
