China's National Bureau of Statistics reported that the economy grew by 4.5% year-on-year in July–September. The result exceeded economists' expectations.
In September, industrial production rose by 5.5%, while retail sales increased by 1.1%. Export shipments of electronics, AI-related equipment, and automobiles supported the output growth.
Duncan Wrigley, Chief Economist at Pantheon Macroeconomics, attributed the resilience in production to heightened external demand. Meanwhile, investment in fixed assets and real estate declined, and infrastructure spending remained weak.
