Date announced for start of heating season in Tashkent
The Tashkent City Administration press service has responded to questions about the start of the 2026 heating season.
For the heating season to begin, the average daily temperature must remain below +8 °C for five consecutive days. Additional announcements will be made regarding the exact start date for heat supply.
Residents of Tashkent have been contacting authorities about the cold snap and dropping temperatures in their apartments, expecting the heating to be turned on.
However, as in previous years, the authorities "will consider the actual weather conditions and will not delay the decision if the cold snap requires it."
Preparations for the systems continue in cooperation with city services and specialists from Veolia Energy Tashkent. When making the decision, the actual weather conditions will also be taken into account, and the authorities will not postpone it in the event of a sharp cold snap.
