Over 1,100 law enforcement officers injured during riots in France

France’s Minister of the Interior Laurent Nuñez reported that some of the injured police officers and gendarmes were hospitalized.

In total, according to him, 1,193 officers were injured. Most injuries were minor, though some cases were very severe, BFMTV reports.

The minister stated that the authorities intend to ensure citizens’ right to freedom of expression while simultaneously suppressing riots and pursuing offenders using all available means.
