Polina Kudermetova and Maria Timofeeva win Guangzhou Open
Uzbekistani tennis players Polina Kudermetova and Maria Timofeeva won the doubles title at the WTA 250 Guangzhou Open tournament. This was announced by the press service of the Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan.
In the final in China, their opponents were representatives of Chinese Taipei, Cho I-hsuan and Cho Yi-tsen. The match was hard-fought, with both sets contested in a tense battle. Kudermetova and Timofeeva won the first set 7:5. The second set went to a tiebreak, where the Uzbekistani duo conceded only one point to their opponents—7:6(1).
The federation congratulated the athletes on their title. It noted that the victory was a well-deserved reward for their skill, character, and cohesive teamwork, and wished the tennis players further success.
